Freelance creative photographic artist available for commissions worldwide
Denise is a UK based freelance creative photographic artist with extensive experience in public visual art installations. Her work has been seen in arts and music festivals and events around the UK and Spain. Her portfolio reflects this work and also her travels in Australia, Thailand, India, USA, Canada and Europe

I am established as a photographic artist and tutor. I originally studied photography within the context of art. Through my first degree I learnt photography the traditional way and digital photography is a self-taught practice that I have developed over the last fifteen years.

I have exhibited widely in Brighton, Birmingham, London, Glastonbury Festival and other UK festivals, including Brighton Festival, Brighton Fringe Festival, Brighton Photo Biennial and Brighton Photo Fringe. My photography has also been projected onto the façade of houses in Brighton, hung in the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery.
During 2006 was commissioned by Brighton and Hove Council to create limited edition prints for long serving employees. And also in 2006 Brighton and Hove Arts Commission Grassroots project helped fund an exhibition curated by myself and I created a fine art multi-media exhibition that fused the disciplines of photography, painting and sculpture in a public space. In December 2007, my photography was part of an online interactive photography montage created by artist Helen Marshall, at The Photographers Gallery.
I have vast experience in photographing and participating in the organisation of Arts and Music festivals and events around the UK, Ireland and Spain. I have been working with some of the artists from the group Mutoid Waste Co for five years. These are notorious for building sculptures out of scrap and other found objects. This has led to exhibiting our work at festivals and joint exhibitions with Wrekon at The Rocket Festival in Spain and Sam Haggarty in London.. During the Brighton Festival 2009, myself Wrekon and Sam Haggarty were part of an exhibition that placed giant sculptures in the centre of Brighton. The show was a huge success and we attracted over 2,000 visitors through the door and countless who viewed it from the exterior.
At present I am researching and developing my photographic practice through my aim which is to continue to educate the community via public visual art installations within non art gallery environments. With Sam Haggarty, Wrekon we aim to create an outdoor art gallery for 2012
I have been working as a photography tutor based in Brighton. I teach both digital and analogue photography courses at City College Brighton and Hove within Adult and Community education, I also work freelance in community and outreach education across the city for Brighton and Hove Council and Phoenix Brighton. I have previously facilitated photography workshops for the BBC as part of the BBC BLAST tour in 2007.
I am a studio member at Phoenix Brighton; this is the largest artist run organisation in the South East. I rent studio space and work in the in-house gallery as part of my membership commitment. In my spare time I like to travel, I have traveled Australia, Thailand, India, USA, Canada and Europe
