Tutor Biography
Denise Felkin studied photography on a BA (Honours) Fine Art course at University of Sunderland. She started out in festival photography and showed at Glastonbury Festival & Subway Gallery, London. Her work with Brighton homeless was exhibited in Brighton Photo Biennial at the Jubilee Library and received significant media coverage including ITV. In 2014, she graduated with a Distinction in MA Photojournalism from University of Westminster. She was a finalist in the Association of Photographers 31st Awards 2014, received an Honourable Mention at the International Photography Awards 2014 and was nominated for the Magnum Photos Graduate Award 2015. She has been published by BBC, The Observer, The Guardian, Huck Magazine. Her most recent work. Mum's Not The Word is shorlisted in the People category of the Sony World Photography Award in 2016 and a Nominee Award for Photogrvphy Grant 2016
